Alcohol and DUI wasn't the only thing Heidi was up to during her days in Colorado. And given John's documented history of meth use along with his admitted involvement in running drugs for the Hell's Angels (oh by the way -- is that part of the "truth" John has shared with Sonya about why he wasn't there for her?) -- perhaps there's a reason why Heidi has taken such an affinity to John's case.
You see, in 2001 Heidi was charged with felony drug possession, of a Schedule II controlled substance. But more specifically, the statute under which Heidi was charged - 18-18-405(1) and 18-18-405(2)(a)(I) means not just that she was charged with possession for personal use, but that she was charged with possession with intent to distribute. The docket doesn't indicate which controlled substance Heidi was charged with possessing/trying to distribute, but it does say it was a Schedule II substance, meaning likely a narcotic (heroin or some other opiate), methamphetamine or cocaine. Given John's history, wouldn't it be ironic if it had been meth? It would explain a lot.

In any event Heidi was fortunate and caught a break - the DA allowed her to plead down to a Level 1 misdemeanor marijuana possession charge in exchange for dismissing the felony charge. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended, and put on probation.
But our story doesn't end there. For Heidi apparently couldn't keep to the terms of her probation and less than a year later had a warrant issued for her arrest for failure to abide by the terms of her probation. Sadly the court file I got missed the last page so I can't tell how things ended up; but it looks like she was able to abide by the terms of the newly imposed sentence. As we'll see though, failure to abide by the terms of probation is not an uncommon problem for Heidi.
