Sex sells. Owning a strip club would, no doubt, be lucrative. But would you want your daughter to be a stripper? I don’t think most people would. Despite the lure of big money, I venture to guess most of us wouldn’t feel right exploiting girls and women, who are often sexually assaulted, use drugs and alcohol excessively to cope, and are often pushed into prostitution or even trafficked into the sex trade. I’m guessing that, to own a strip club, you have to see girls and women as inferior beings -- as objects for your personal use and the use of others.
How John McCaul sees girls and women is speculation. But what follows isn’t speculation.
We’ve already looked into John’s involvement with the Lariat Club, with its panoply of illegal activities including underage strippers and drug trafficking. But it turns out Lariat wasn’t the only strip club John owned.
John also co-owned another strip joint called Boomers. I stumbled across this while researching case history; apparently John failed to pay the rent to his landlord, Gordon and Maxyne Brannon. He and his partners/co-owners were each ordered to pay $33,000 in back rent, and were ultimately evicted from the premises. I wonder what John was doing with all the money he was making ... sure wasn't being used to pay the rent.
Researching Boomers revealed several interesting facts. For one, Boomers was just a D/B/A name for General Holdings, LLC. General Holdings was a business that John owned with two Scott Longs -- a Scott John Long and a Scott James Long, both of whom are now dead.
John and his buddies purchased Boomers from Gary Kassebaum, and by the time they purchased it, it already had a storied reputation. For just like Lariat, Boomers was well-known as a club for hiring underage strippers -- it was so well-known for that that there was even a skit made about it around town.
John’s ownership didn’t seem to clean the place up any though, because soon after John purchased the club it was embroiled in a full-on prostitution ring. Apparently for their better clients, Boomers would arrange limo rides complete with “dancers” offering sex.
But prostitution and underage strippers weren’t the only things connected to the club. For whatever else may have been going on there, it attracted a lot of murder.
For one, remember Gary Kassebaum, the guy that John bought Boomers from? Turns out that soon after John bought the club from Gary, Gary’s wife Jeanne was found murdered in her hot tub, in a crime that remains unsolved. If you know anything about it, there’s a $30,000 reward to be had. Perhaps John could offer up another tip--he does have a way of knowing about murderers. Maybe he could even use the tip money to pay off that debt he owes to Brannon. Or maybe in case he gets arrested again, he can offer up some more tips in exchange for a reduced sentence.
But that murder wasn’t the only one connected to the club. For in April 2004 one of the bouncers at Boomers that John hired, Pernell M. Franke, ended up brutally murdering a patron from the club after the two got into some sort of fight later that night--with three lethal blows to the head along with being shot. Franke later pled guilty and was sentenced to life in prison. And that wasn't the only time that John hired someone with violent and murderous tendencies--stay tuned for that.
I was able to track down one of the girls who worked at Boomers. As it turns out, the strip club owners in the area were all very interconnected. We’ll take a look at what she had to say about John “JayJay” McCaul and his associates next. Hold onto your hats.

A lot of people sure do end up violently dead around John.
